The app for independent voices

Hey there, my fellow family historians… I’m thinking a little more deeply now about a Timeline viewer idea discussed in comments to my post this morning about “Stories250” (projectkin.substack.com…).

The idea is to create a timeline that gives us time-based context to view stories written about our ancestors connection to the American War of Independence. PLUS I want this timeline to highlight the VAST range of relevant posts, not just the new ones we’ll be highlighting each month.

Signups are going fast. Jane Chapman will join me on August 17th, then Kyla Bayang has already jumped in with a story for September 14. Join us?

To help me work through the feasibility, a few questions:

  • Have a post you’ve already done about an ancestor with a connection to the period you think should be included? (I’m thinking I’ll bound it to 50 years +/- July 4, 1776)

    • Drop the link in the comments here: 👇 I’ll use it to get started with the timeline.

  • My form (when complete) will ask for start/end dates for the relevant topic, perhaps birth/death dates, brief description (such as the post subhead or social description)projectkin.substack.com… and a link to your current post. Is it unreasonable to insist that each entry include an image?

The result I’m going for will look a little like this timeline I did for the Lafayette project:

I’ll wait… 👉 👈
