Trump considers that all public lands are his private lands, to do with what he pleases, especially if it profits him and his corrupt oil buddies. If he cares so much about energy and the American people he would invest in alternatives like wind and solar (of course the "birds in the windmills" is his "pretend" version of caring about nature). But of course, he won't because he doesn't care.
