I've been hearing a lot lately that spoke to me.

Most people think worship is measured on the prayer mat.

It isn’t.

It’s measured at home.

You can recite beautifully…

stand long in prayer…

even memorise the Qur’ān…

But how are you with your family?

The Prophet ﷺ repeated the order again and again:

Mother.

Then father.

Then those closest to you.

Until you realise something:

Your dīn begins with the people you see every day.

A man came with a major sin.

He wasn’t told:

“Pray more.”

“Fast more.”

He was asked:

“Do you have a maternal aunt?”

Serve her.

Think about that.

The door back to Allah…

is a relationship you abandoned.

A call you never made.

Harshness you never fixed.

Presence you never gave.

We search for huge acts while neglecting the people Allah placed nearest to us.

But perhaps your greatest test…

was never far away.

It was sitting at your own table.
