Someone more evolved than me might have arrived on their own at some kind of closure. Internalized something to the effect of:  it doesn’t matter why he isn’t texting back, the only thing that matters is that this is not how I want to feel or be treated. But my brain doesn’t work like that. My brain is a TV with a broken controller. A few times a year, it gets stuck on a channel that is so loud, I cannot eat or think or work or sleep. The only thing that will allow me to lower the volume or change the channel is the answer to the question: what happened?
