Beauty discourse, like basically all writing about anything to do primarily with women, seems very skewed by people projecting their own (often extreme, in the literal, non judgemental sense of the word) habits and proclivities out onto the population writ large.

By all means spend thousands of pounds a month doing hundreds of procedures or whatever it is, but choosing to do something does not inherently mean that whatever you, specifically, have chosen to do represents a societally enforced norm.
