In venture, not deploying is basically a personality flaw. You have mandates. LPs. A next fund to raise. The whole system is built to reward motion.

But we didn't do what's 'normal. We kept our standards high and refused to settle — even when it looked bad from the outside. We just stayed focused on finding the right deals. The ones that actually made sense for us.

And then it rained. Three deals last week. All fund returners. All ones we only got into because we never burned our time on anything less.
