My beef is with the plain fact that women are never required to take responsibility for our outcomes, because it’s socially acceptable and encouraged to cast blame externally. If feminism always provides a cover to excuse bad choices, it’s an ideology of disempowerment. Which it did for me. And yes, this is today’s feminism. It’s based on cognitive distortions that any therapist worth their salt would help you discard.

The crazy thing is that when I say things like this that many women know are true, I am told silly things like “you’re misinterpreting feminism”. No. What these people are actually doing is claiming victory for feminism when the outcomes are good, and distancing feminism when critiques can be made. If a woman succeeds, then feminism worked. If she failed, then anything she believed from the feminist paradigm couldn’t be blamed. This is one large reason the gender wars won’t die. Always got downside protection.
