Yes the scapegoating is childish, churlish, sadistic and serves no good.

How should we, as a community of healthcare providers, respond to this? We should respond. Silence is a recipe for attack against us.

We are already being attacked daily by the public, at the mercy of rapidly spreading disinformation that is fomenting rage and creating mistrust of our skills and our advice.

En masse, we need to speak. Everyone will benefit. We carry the expertise, the training, the care. It is our jobs to educate and heal. Yet we are losing our audience. To everyone’s detriment.

Let’s formalize a very large voice that will help each of us regain our confidence. It is a mistake to be silent in this age of internet brutality.
