I did not know he had been doing these "for years". I'm just looking at it as if this were the first time I've seen this kind of column. I can't bear to watch any political speech at all, probably for the same reason Matt and many others hate them. And Matt has to watch them, I guess, so drinking might make it more fun. For most of my life I've taken to heart the appeal from the 20th century not to let a fascist takeover happen. If what I write is killing your buzz, go take another drink. Not me.
