Substack is in danger of collapsing under its own weight. There are just too many worthy accounts here now to expect readers to cough up $5 for every writer they want to read. There needs to be some kind of subscription/revenue sharing mechanism so subscribers aren’t constantly asked for money for every damned article they’d like to read. Sell tokens. Punchcards. Come on, SS, INNOVATE ALREADY.
How many people were brought into the church at your parish during the Easter vigil? I'm reading incredible numbers: 100 in a single parish in Texas. 5000 in the archdiocese of Los Angeles, almost a thousand in Detroit. Just in the small Trenton archdiocese I'm hearing numbers like 19, 30, and even higher for small suburban parishes.

Something amazing happened in Nebraska. A young man showed up to an auction, hoping to buy back his family's 80-acre farm that they’d lost during hard times. But with over 200 local farmers in attendance, he didn’t stand much of a chance... or so he thought. What happened next? Nobody bid. Not one person. They all stayed si…
I can't believe that in approximately 12 hours, I will be a brand new Catholic.
Over a year ago, long before the thought of converting ever crossed my mind, I dreamt about a man dressed in Tudor clothes, who was speaking to me. He was very kind, carried this air of quiet joy anout him, and really wanted me to join him. He was bold about saying he “had prayed.” The dream had that ‘realness’ factor I knew was Important.
The dream baffled me until recently. (I dream so much, I keep a dream journal …
Just made the mistake at looking at the publication that with increasing levels of nerve calls itself The Free Press.
The almost total avoidance of coverage of the current government threats to freedoms as basic as habeas corpus, due process and free speech on campus is quite something. And when there is coverage, it’s nitpicking in order to defend Trump.

I had a patient in last week with a full blown N95 mask. I asked “are you ill?” They replied “oh no, I am keeping myself safe and you safe because I was in a big crowd a few days ago and I may be asymptomatic.” I had to glue my eyelids down to make sure I did not eyeroll. All I said was “well don’t wear that on my account, it makes no difference to me”.
I have seen people wearing n95 again the grocery store even Walmart … :& last Christmas my neighbor told me that they had covid and they were making the kids wear a mask while sick so they didn’t infect grandma or grandpa but they already had covid couple times grandpa had 3 booster the last time he told me he was sick for the 2nd time so I imagine this time is number 3 or 4 for him ?? I tried to tell them that masks makes no difference. When my neighbor said he tested positive for the first ti…
Heading into Easter Weekend I’m reminded of the symbolism of this important Christian holiday and how everything has changed, yet everything has stayed the same.
It represents the pain, suffering, and persecution of the righteous in order to protect the power and control of a group of elites in an effort to stamp out hope. It represents denial and betrayal on the most personal of levels.
Most importantly however, it represents a death and a rebirth, a new beginning disguised as a bitter ending…
