Thanks to LLMs, there has probably never been a better time to learn from books. Books offer structure and curated content, which a major advantage over relying solely on an LLM when learning a new or complex topic.
At the same time, LLMs are now excellent for asking follow-up questions or clarifying confusing points.
Back in the day, especially with math-heavy books, I would sometimes get completely stuck at those infamous "it's trivial to show that..." passages. It's still important to try working through things yourself first, but now, instead of posting on StackExchange and waiting days for an answer (or giving up), you can quickly ask an LLM and keep moving forward.
