I’ve been wondering why I’ve been so attracted to comics and graphic novels this year — and I have a hunch that part of it (truly just a part) is that while AI can somewhat write and somewhat produce art, it really can’t combine them in a coherent or creative way.

Good comics are inherently collaborative and creative, while working within the constraints of panels and pages.

It’s been so fun to get lost in a comic for an hour at night — I’m not tempted or lured away by screens like I often am while reading books. I have no idea why, but it’s rather interesting.
