Medicine is easy. Tax practice? Not even close.
Probably a biased take—I’ve been a physician for 14 years and a tax professional for four.
But the difference is real.
In medicine, even in life-and-death situations, I can review a chart for a minute and walk in ready. It feels natural.
Because I’ve done it thousands of times.
But running a tax consulting business?
Understanding the tax law is just the beginning.
Now it’s: creating content, engaging with people, building trust, managing operations, and working with clients who don’t always say yes.
It’s not just technical—it’s everything around it.
And honestly, it’s much harder.
But I’m grateful I’m going through it.
Because I used to think about “what else” I could do outside of medicine…
Now I see it differently.
Being a doctor is a privilege. A well-designed system where your expertise is often enough.
Most other fields don’t work like that.
Just something I’ve been reflecting on.
