Nobody knows who wrote the Gospels.

All four are anonymous. The authors never name themselves, never claim to be eyewitnesses, and write in the third person about the disciples.

The names Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were attached in the second century, generations later, by a church that needed apostolic authority.
