One thing I hate about the growth of Substack is that writers feel compelled to put out content even on topics that they have nothing to say about.

I have about 10 emails in my inbox this morning related to the election - none of these people write political Substacks. I don't want to read any of them - why would I? They're just engagement bait.

Bring back writers wanting to have a unique identity and understanding they don't occupy every lane. You don't have to respond to every damn thing in the zeitgeist - let people who know more do the talking.
