“Just living is not enough. One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower” Hans Christian Andersen
One photo, many memories…
This rose from my garden came from a bush that sat in a pot on my back verandah in TSV (a tropical climate not very hospitable to roses).
This rose had its first buds devoured by a possum. Went to bed so excited for the blooms to open but woke up the next morning to stalks!
This rose reminds me of my sister Pippa who was with us for an extended visit when the 2020 pandemic began. We were getting our house ready to put on the market and the rose-bush-in-a-pot-on-the-verandah was part of the staging/beautifying process that she very much helped with. Basically she saved my sanity.
This rose now sits outside my kitchen window bringing endless pleasure when I see it’s in bloom, and the smell? Divine!
The photo reminds me of my other two seesters, Amanda and Sara. We met up in the UK last year and a trip to The Burford Garden Centre was (according to Amanda) a necessity! The cute little stripy creamer housing the divinely smelling rose came from there.
One photo, so many memories.
