I don’t really believe what this article says. My understanding is that most book purchases actually happen by word of mouth. But there are so many others ways to get reviews: Netgalley, blogs, podcasts, communications for organizations. And I’m not so sure that one person’s take on a book really makes more of a difference than seeing several reader reviews. One thing I learned a long time ago is that I don’t necessarily like bestsellers.
