Yesterday I went roller skating and my friend pretended not to know how to skate. I was pretty sure he did know how. When I held his hand to help him balance he didn’t put any weight on me. He seemed to have very good balance for a rank beginner. But I went with it because I wasn’t sure.
He really committed to the bit. Held the wall. Went round and round. Took lots of breaks. By the end of the hour or so I had bought it hook line and sinker. I really hope I wasn’t a pretentious jerk trying to teach him how to skate! Other people also helped to teach him. He really doubled all the way down. Until
He kept requesting songs and when they finally played his Van Halen tune in the last fifteen minutes of the session boyfriend came up off the wall and bop danced to his tune for the duration. I am still chuckling. The verve! The commit to the bit debonair savoire faire. Oh the humanity.
I’m not sure what the instructor lady thought but I found it deeply hilarious. What a chum. Gotta love it. All the yes
