👉The Trendelenburg gait pattern is a distinctive walking issue often seen when the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus muscles are weak or not functioning properly.

🔎The gluteus medius and minimus muscles play a key role in stabilizing the pelvis during gait by preventing contralateral (opposite side) pelvic drop. Weakness in these muscles can result from injury, pain inhibition related to hip or low back pain and inactivity.

🧠Strengthening the gluteus medius and minimus muscles is essential for improving the Trendelenburg gait and restoring a more natural walking pattern. Whether you’re recovering from injury or have pain in the region, the exercises in this post can help build strength and stability in the lower body.

✅If you need a more comprehensive program, the hip pain program in my book guides you through three phases of rehab and includes many other exercises that can help improve hip strength, mobility and function.
