Things I'm learning by openly sharing my emotional pain and suffering.
It's DEEPLY uncomfortable for me. π³π₯Ί
But it's also heartbreaking for others to witness. ππ₯Ίπ
Especially for those who of us who are deeply sensitive to needs of others.
We want to βhelpβ stop their pain. π₯Ί
Our sensitivity can't handle watching someone struggle. π
Our gentle hearts are moved to reach out.
Offering advice.
Solutions.
Bible verses.
Distractions.
While the heart behind those actions may seem innocent in nature.
It often takes away from the very place that God has and needs them to be on their narrow path. βοΈ
So when we jump in and try to help or save them from their pain. We end up taking away the very lessons that the Lord is trying to teach them. We are essentially trying to do His job. π³
He doesn't need us stepping in and interrupting the very work that He's doing in their heart. βοΈ
He needs us to simply trust that He's got them. βοΈ
Our role is to simply come alongside the individual and love on them by being His heart, for them.βοΈ
We get to show them His love, grace, compassion and acceptance for who they are as a human on their walk with the Lord. βοΈ
It's not about changing where they find themselves.
It's not about changing the speed at which they are walking.
It's about meeting them with His heart. βοΈ
I know just how hard it is to meet someone in their suffering without trying to change or fix it. π₯Ί
Because I've been SUPER guilty of trying to stop, change or fix it. π«
But the Lord has been working on my heart and teaching me how to be with my own pain & suffering. By expanding the capacity of my heart. He's renewing my mercy. So that I can be with the tension in my own body when I see someone suffering. And still be able to meet them in it without trying to stop, change or fix it. ππΌβοΈ
If you find yourself struggling to witness another person's suffering. Please know that you're not alone. π
If you find yourself struggling to not rush to stop anothers pain.
Please know that you're not alone.
If you struggle to not know how to meet someone IN their suffering.
Please know that you're not alone.
God sees you.
God loves you.
God accepts you right where you are.
God's got you as you learn how to let Him lead you in this way. βοΈ
I see you.
I love you.
I am you.
