After months of pressing ICE for answers about deportation operations in San Diego, I finally got a response.

Here's what they told us: 16,368 people were removed from the San Diego area between January 2025 and April 2026. Here's what they didn't tell us: how many had criminal records, and whether judicial warrants were issued.

I suspect these numbers are part of Stephen Miller's demands to meet arbitrary detention quotas. Trump promised he was targeting the worst of the worst. If that's true, ICE should have no problem telling us. The fact that they won't is telling.

This letter paints only half the picture. The public deserves the full one, and I will keep pushing until we get it.
