Trump’s administration is moving to close the office that monitors ICE detention centers.

They blame Congressional budgeting for the closure.

But people are dying in ICE custody. ICE deaths hit a two-decade high last year, and four people died in custody in one week.

So closing the oversight office now does not look like a budget issue.

It looks like the business model protecting itself.

Private detention companies are still expanding the infrastructure to capture, store, and profit from human bodies.

And the office meant to monitor ICE detention abuse is being pushed out of the way.

First they cage people. Then they deny care. Then they bury the record. Then they remove the oversight.

This is profit optimization with the coverup written into policy.
