Dr Scrum

Dr. Scrum:(In the operating room, addressing the surgical staff right before an operation. The patient is unconscious, lying on the operating table in front of them.)

"Okay, we have a long operation today—eight hours total if we stay on task. So let's try to swarm this one. Ted, I know you usually handle anesthesia, but now that the patient is asleep, you're just monitoring things. You've got cycles. Let's have you hop in and help me with the operation as soon as the patient seems stable."

Ted: "That really isn't my specialty. I wouldn't know where to start..."

Dr. Scrum: "Ted! How else are you going to learn? Plus, we have to swarm the bottlenecks! And what if I get hit by a bus during break? Who would pick up where I left off?

"I want your help too, Stephanie. Don't be shy."

Stephanie: "I just get the instruments ready. It wouldn't be wise for me..."

Dr. Scrum: "Nonsense! You just jump right in there. Don't worry about hurting anything. 'Move fast and break things' is what I always say. Our velocity as a team depends on all of us pitching in."
