Yes and Thinking Standard is supposed to be faster and more concise. OpenAI says GPT-5.5 Thinking Standard may now begin with a short preamble, can be steered while it is thinking, keeps better track of its work, and produces more “streamlined” output with cleaner formatting and less unnecessary header text. All of that can make the Standard model feel more procedural, careful, and less naturally fluent in a tender or imaginative conversation, so less warmth and fluff, I guess.😏
