Some good points from that Banshee woman which brought to mind a few things:

I’ve been on a journey about a dozen or so times that takes just under an hour in a car. Four of those journeys I’ve made with the same person. Every time we go they use the sat nav on their phone - even though I know the way & they’ve been there with me before, & more than once.

A couple of years ago I was in Brighton, on the South coast. An American friend, who was here working, was meeting me at my hotel. She walked into the bar holding her phone, which had talked her through the walk from her hotel which was less than half a mile away.

……… Do folks even use road signs or ask for directions any more?

A teacher I [used to] know said that kids don’t need to learn how to read maps as they have mobile phones …. I shit you not.

Another point - power cuts. The first thing I think about is a torch or candles & a lighter. But many folks grab their phone to see how much battery is left.

I’m waffling

We are mere trained pets.

Great piece from Rev’d Tina —

This is why I use it as little as possible -

Once you start to surrender the use of your own cognitive abilities in favour of using Artificial Intelligence to do things and work things out for you it’s a slippery slope downwards to a catastrophic loss of neural signalling and pathways -

Sat nav is a good exam…
