An exquisite little thing: 12th century walrus ivory bobbin found in Norwich castle, likely the property of a wealthy noblewoman. While such objects had a practical use in needlework, this one is very polished and more than anything showcases the fine artistry surrounding the details of the Romanesque human and dragon head.
