Anna Hyatt Huntington was a prominent sculptor of the early- and mid-20th century, working and gaining renown in a time when it was uncommon for women to have thriving careers as artists. Several of her works are located in New York City, including her Joan of Arc sculpture, which was NYC’s first monument to be dedicated to a historical woman and first public monument made by a woman.
