I totally agree with your assessment of the Supreme Court. In fact, liberals and all citizens that still believe in a fair-minded administration of "the rule of law" have been given a mission by this Court; to 'dismantle the fascist state'; that the GOP has been building. It's rooted in the sector of conservative government that the GOP uses, to obscure their intent, and much of that intention has been executed thru "deep state" projection, a classic misdirection scheme, rivaling the effectiveness of that of the third Reich and of Joseph Stalin.
This whole fascist movement started with the Powell Memo fuse, established in the early 70s, a few decades later Chief Justice Roberts & Moscow Mitch lit that fuse, with Citizens United; now with a voting public, conditioned with decades of fascist rhetoric coming out of the billionaire beholding GOP, we have 6 Fascists on the Court, eagerly tearing down 250 years of evolving Constitutional Law, and blowing up Stare Decisis.
Obergefel should be slam dunk, for anyone that has ever bothered to read the "equal protection clause" of the 14th amendment, & any "normal" Court. (Obviously this court's fascist wing reads the Constitution the same way they read their fundamentalist Bible, "selectively.")
The Chevron deference decision is just a naked fascist power grab, as is Dobbs, which amounted to, little more than the 6 fascist members of the court, cramming their deeply indoctrinated religious and political ideologies down the throats of every other American; all of us in the majority, that is. The Court, & the Christofascists they side with, are totally blind to the 1st amendment's religious Separation Clause.
The only back stop we have left is to keep on voting Democrat until we have a large enough, 2/3 majority (with a Dem POTUS) to cut the head off this Project 2025 & fascist arm, of this Supreme Court serpent; by rebalancing the court.
Anti-Roe had all along been a way to get low info voters and religious zealots to vote against their interests, the real agenda all along was to install corporate fascism, the proof is in the pudding, with the Chevron deference decision.
As far as Biden goes, I have no qualms about him being our future president, he is a 1000 times better than Trump, even if Biden slept thru half the day; for all but the morbidly wealthy that is. Added to that, his VP is also, easily 1000 times better, and likely, has learned a lot from her mentor, Joe Biden.
What likely happened to Joe Biden at the debate, I've experienced before, while debating other slick, low moralality, deceptive conservatives. Their strategy is to throw so many fantabulous lies at you, so fast, that you're still thinking about the last one when the next one comes at you. For people that tend to be fact based, this is very disconcerting. I don't think even media checking could have done much to alleviate such a deluge of lies.
Predators, and game in the wild, use this same strategy to confuse. Duck hunters are familiar with the concept and must resist the urge to flock shoot, and pick out individuals instead.
What I think happened to Biden was he had so many "big lies" thrown at him, so rapidly, that coupled with his not feeling well, and adding to that, his speech impediment, the lies overwhelmed his capacity to deal with them effectively. (Who among would be prepared to counter 90 minutes of non stop whoppers?) I think Donald Trump & his corrupt, fascist, immoral GOP synchophants had planned this strategy, it seems to be a Republican thing, in the age of Trump fascism.
Finally, our intensely corrupt Supreme Court, today, after months of stalling, in order to obstruct justice in favor Trump, gave Trump immunity for any acts that can be adjudicated as, in some way, "official". Taking us a long leap towards, what these sad, clown, Court jesters have as their final goal, an exclusively GOP fascism. Finally, Donald Trump's insatiable "dictator envy", and desires to have power equivalent to leaders more like Vladimir Putin & Kim Jong Un are being answered for him by this activist, fascist Court, that has no business in ever making such decisions.
We have a very good Constitution that has served, (many of us in white world well), unfortunately it has always been victimized by people of exclusionary prejudice and rapacious greed, and exploited for more wealth and power. Super predators like Charles Koch and other billionaire predators have learned how to beat the Constitution's provisions for oversight and equal protections, by funding elections, lobbying, capturing media and using law school endowments to further their ambitions, thru indoctrination, with pernicious use of bribery. Money is a tremendously corrupting influence on morality, rivaled only by fundamental religiousity. We have the worst elements of both, doing their utmost to dismantle and tear down our democracy.
Remember this when a Republican says they can run government better, they are only talking about, for rich people, and that's very questionable. The degree of narcissism required to obtain fantastic wealth is usually exclusionary to any compassion for, more ordinary people. President Biden isn't BSing anybody when he says Donald Trump is a serious threat to our country & was incompetent as a president, if you believe otherwise, the propaganda arm, or the corruption arm, of the GOP & Russia has worked over your thinking.
It is an exceedingly corrupt court indeed that would obstruct justice on a case that involves a president accused of espionage. Not only should Judge Cannon recuse, but she should be brought up on charges of aiding & abetting espionage and obstructing justice and should be arrested by the FBI.
Cannon's Trump espionage case is of such national gravity, it should have been placed on a rocket docket. The last case even remotely of such extreme national importance, for the future of our country, was the espionage trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, in the 1950's, this case should warrant at least as much attention and should be at least treated every bit as seriously.
It all really demonstrates if enough money is thrown at an issue, wealthy people can buy anything, including integrity at the heights of our government and our legal system.
