A pair of siskins on the feeder by our kitchen window this evening: the first I’ve seen for quite some time. Only occasional but very welcome visitors in our garden. Smaller than the greenfinches they superficially resemble. Delightful little birds. A notched tail peeking from behind the feeder is usually the first sign they’re back. Let’s hope they hang around for a bit.
