Being good at promoting yourself is part of the deal of becoming a successful consultant.
I’d suspect there’s a strong correlation between understanding the nuances of client attraction and actually doing the work well.
Learn from people with a bigger audience than you, then figure out how to evolve/adapt into areas they don’t go.
