Meanwhile, Syria fell this evening, due to betrayal by Russia and Iran (and probably the Syrian Arab Army as well.) I no longer trust Putin to do anything correctly. He has made three major (if not fatal) mistakes: 1) he left Idlib in one piece before; 2) he tried that stupid March-April, 2022, “deal” with Ukraine which would never have worked; and 3) now he’s completely fucked Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran. I expect he will compound these mistakes by making a deal with the US to stop at the Dnieper when Trump comes in. Why? Because he simply doesn’t get that he’s at existential war with the US and no deals are possible in an existential fight.

So Hezbollah will now be stabbed in the back by Iran. Then Iran will be stabbed in the back by Russia.

The Axis of Resistance has failed. All of Soleimani’s work over 25 years has been wasted. Hezbollah, the Palestinians and Iran are screwed. Israel and the US will control the Middle East permanently.

I don’t care what spin gets put on this by anyone. It was outright betrayal and diplomatic cowardice. And now everyone is fucked except the US and Israel.

I wash my hands of both the Ukraine and Middle East wars. Everyone will get what they deserve for incompetence and cowardice. There’s no point in my commenting on these matters any further since obviously I can not predict who will be next to screw up or betray.

The amusing thing is that my motto has been since childhood: “Trust no one.” And as no one else, I am aware of how screwed up humans are. I should have expected this level of incompetence and betrayal. People will always betray one either due to malice or incompetence.

I hope I have learned my lesson. But since I’m human, too, probably not.
