Banks have started to roll out “digital employee personas” according to a new piece in the WSJ today.
The two main digital employee personas developed by BNY Mellon are:
Code Vulnerability Cleanup Persona
Designed to identify and fix vulnerabilities in code. It can log into company systems, detect issues, write new code to patch them, and then submit the changes for human manager approval.
Payment Instruction Validation Persona
Focuses on validating payment instructions, ensuring that transactions are processed correctly and securely.
Because they have their own logins, and can directly access the same apps as human employees, they can work autonomously.
But they’ll still have direct line managers, reporting into human bosses.
I always used to really dislike it when some bosses would optimize for number of people reporting into them in org charts. This has the potential to 10x empire building 😅
