Sora has officially closed after downloads plummeted in recent months.

This seems to be part of a wider consolidation strategy by OpenAI’s CEO of Applications Fidji Simo to double down on what’s working and ditch what’s not.

A report in the WSJ last week said this consolidation process was in the pipeline - potentially with a vision to create a “Super App” that merges all of OpenAI’s strongest value propositions into one.
