DoorDash has released a new AI Assistant that lets users order through voice, chat, recipe link or image.

Their CEO says that in early testing, nearly half of all restaurant orders made with Ask DoorDash were from a place the customer had never ordered from before, and grocery baskets built with Ask DoorDash were over 35% larger than those without.

I’m actually quite surprised that the value of Assistant-driven baskets are so high but I wonder if this is reflected in AOV or whether grocery baskets were just built - and then edited afterwards to remove unwanted items.
