New research from Atlassian shows 94% of knowledge workers use AI regularly, but disclosing that fact costs them professionally.
In a controlled experiment with 961 workers, colleagues rated peers who admitted to using AI as 10 times lazier - even when evaluating identical work.
Those who disclosed AI use were also 24 percentage points less likely to be recommended for high-visibility projects.
So it seems that despite execs encouraging AI use with things like tokenmaxxing leaderboards and all the rest of it, the use of AI is still a taboo topic that can actively harm your reputation at work.
