Expedia's AI Chief says evals are replacing Product Requirements Documents

He argues that evaluation frameworks have become the primary artifact for defining what AI products should do - replacing traditional PRDs.

"All your thinking is gonna go into the evals," he told a conference this week.

Rather than writing specs upfront, teams encode product behavior, security requirements, and red team scenarios directly into evaluation suites. AI-generated code then works backward from those constraints.
