As a newsletter writer on Substack, I've always been frustrated with the built-in analytics.
So I started exporting my CSVs and crunching the numbers with Python scripts. Over time the scripts evolved into something more substantial, and I thought other creators might find it useful too.
I packaged it into a proper desktop app with things Substack doesn't show you:
> Subscriber engagement scoring
> Growth source breakdowns
> Cohort retention
> Superfan detection
> 90-day growth forecasting
> AI-generated strategy from your own data(totally optional)
Everything runs locally on your Mac or Windows PC. Nothing goes to any server.
Launching it today. It's called StackStats:
If you run a Substack, would something like this be useful to you? Would love to hear your thoughts.
