I don't have anything to say about the massive layoffs today at the Washington Post that hasn't already been said - eloquently and passionately - by the women and men whose lives and careers have been turned upside down in this heartless and shortsighted purge. It has been painful to watch Sir Will Lewis and Jeff Bezos eviscerate a national treasure where I was privileged to work for 25 years. I will continue to subscribe, not because I have any confidence in Post management, but because - even after this calamitous day - Post reporters and editors continue to do important work. The future is uncertain at best, but as long as they hold the powerful to account, I will have their back.
