You've probably noticed that this week’s And It Don’t Stop features a detailed and knowledgeable report from the first show in six years by my beloved Wussy, although note that I caught and greatly enjoyed two acoustic Chuck-and-Lisa shows during that dry period. The show took place in their Cincinnati hometown, and the report was written by my old Village Voice colleague RJ Smith, as was only mete, since the now Nashville-based RJ lived and worked in that Ohio burg for five years while I’ve visited it no more than once. Plus I’m recovering from two serious, more or less simultaneous, albeit by no means perilous, surgeries I may well go into at some length in the near future given that "Old Age" is one of my "newsletter"'s official themes. Wussy’s first album since 2016, Cincinnati Ohio, just came out, so there was ample cause for celebration and RJ’s heartening report benefits from access to both specific and general info I can’t make much of a claim to. Along with Cincinnati Ohio there are also two new EPs, one of which sounded terrific when I streamed it on Bandcamp, although I haven’t yet pinned down the other. Yum yum yum.
