I’ve noticed I often say “sorry,” “please,” and “thank you” to ChatGPT.

I know I don’t need to. It’s just software. But I’ve also found myself thinking that if we get too comfortable speaking to machines with contempt or impatience, it might start to affect how we treat actual people.

So I’ll keep saying “please” and “thank you,” even if the computer doesn’t care.

Some habits are worth keeping.
