Always great to hang out with the legend, Tim Werner, who always interrupts speakers with one-liners. Stephen Hawking could never match his cleverness and wit.

Appreciate Dr. Rick Bedlack for making the trek from North Carolina for a presentation and a viewing of his documentary, Stitching Strength. As the chair of the Duke ALS Clinic, he uses his passion for menswear and fashion to engage patients.

Where my Dad was simply told: "get your affairs in order," Dr. Bedlack's message to his patients starts by providing the scientific evidence to support the positive psychological and physical benefits of hope. It is far more than a belief, but also a motivating force (action) to achieve something.  Glad to see ALS United expand into Indiana.

While searching for a cure is part of the long game, meeting people where they are today so they can live well with this disease is a priority. It's hard to internalize seeing this much positive energy in a room while discussing such a dark topic.
