There’s a reason some people seem immune to guilt, shame, or doubt.

The Dark Triad refers to a cluster of three related personality traits: narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism.

Narcissism centers on entitled self-importance. It’s a complex trait with many nuances, but at its core it involves an inflated sense of one’s own significance and a strong need for admiration.

Psychopathy is characterized by callousness and emotional detachment—a cynical, low-empathy orientation toward others, often paired with a disregard for social norms.

Machiavellianism reflects a cold, strategic mindset marked by duplicity and a willingness to manipulate or exploit others for personal gain.
