The weather sort of sucks in Paris right now, but there’s more cycling infrastructure and more people cycling than the last time I was here.

What this city has done under its previous mayor and will presumably continue to do under the guy who just won is nothing short of incredible.

In many parts of the city, you never see a car. And just about everywhere, bikes take precedence over cars.

On some streets, bikes dominate the entire width. Cars are relegated to second or third class status.

It’s beautiful.

If Paris can do it, any city can do it.

New York. LA. You name it.

It takes political will and a strong mayor with genuine conviction, knowledge, and a penchant to do what’s right. Something sorely lacking around the world right now.
