I think a lot this a lot with respect to Trump's enablers.

They're positioned to do so much good in the world. To be on the right side of history. Heck, so many of Musk's projects fit a “liberal agenda.” I just don't understand how the allure of more money, more power, more whatever — when you have so much — could be stronger than doing outsized good.

It's nothing new, but remains tragic, nonetheless.
