The lies and propaganda are certainly designed to maintain power and enrich the grifters - but another factor is that it has received little push back due to widespread cognitive dissonance. Many people in Western Civilization have their heads stuck in the sand because they cannot deal with reality. But this needs to change from the top down. They've been told they can be anything they want. A Furrie? Sure. Bring a litterbox to school? Sure.

The delusional, reality-optional thinking starts at the top, it's being taught.
