John, I agree with you 100%. I have zero sympathy for any of them. If lined up and shot, I wouldn't lose a minute's sleep. Sounds heartless, but it's my truth. For my personal beliefs and voicing them, I've had the local machine come after me personally - a not even thinly veiled attempt at character assassination - including the local newspaper.
In my instance - no provable monetary damages, so I had no legal grounds for defamation. As you say, Trump does, and they can be proven sufficiently, I'm sure. People don't realize the extent of the cancer at the local level, with State and Federal above them, for backing. I don't give a fuck, I will never be silent and never capitulate. Ever.
^Here's^ the published letter. Had to fight the Editor to get it published. They outflanked me though. Whoever does the paper's social media, led their - then Twitter, now X - feed the very next day with my letter - trying to get pushback against me personally. This was a top-down concerted effort at the paper.
The first Tweet, also part of the set up says, "Has Ron Anselmo been arrested yet for inciting violence?" How do you think that looks to an employer, or a lender? Or anyone else who scrapes my electronic dossier? Fuck them.
It didn't say, "Has the writer...", they purposely used my name for that very reason - now a part of my record. A flat-out character assassination. I repeat. Fuck them. Over.
