Make money doing the work you believe in

A quick translation of the latest Epstein-file talking point:

The message goes something like this: “Be careful what you wish for. You asked for transparency, and now it’s going to hurt your side.”

But here’s the thing: That message isn’t aimed at Democrats.

It’s aimed at Republicans — disguised as a warning to Democrats.

Democrats don’t have a problem with accountability that cuts inward. If powerful people committed crimes, indict them. If they wore a D next to their name, that’s not a shield — it’s a disappointment. Nobody’s asking for immunity. We asked for the truth.

So who is this message for?

It’s for people who:

  • assume politics is tribal and symmetrical

  • believe exposure is a weapon, not a principle

  • need reassurance that “our side” won’t be uniquely damaged

What the warning really says is this: “If transparency keeps going, Republicans might lose the ability to argue that accountability is selective.”

That’s the fear. Not Democratic hypocrisy — Republican equivalence collapsing.

This framing isn’t persuasion. It’s base-management. A way to pre-emptively tell supporters:

“If this blows back on us, remember—you were warned.”

Democrats aren’t being threatened here. Republicans are being reassured.

And that tells you everything you need to know about who’s actually worried.
