Happy New Year, Substack photographers!

I’m a little late to the Nordic Lens party this time around, so I’m so pleased that

posted a reminder.

Nature is such a broad theme, and one I love so deeply, that I’ve struggled to cut down the photos I wanted to enter this time around.

My default subject since moving to the coast has often been the sea. It took me a ridiculously long time after moving here to start looking inland and exploring the many wooded and open landscapes that also surround us. But when I did, I found myself honing in on the smallest details I could physically focus on—gorse and stitchwort and raindrops on grass—as well as the textures of our local woodlands.

These aren’t new images. I hope Patrik will forgive me for that. But looking through my recent archives has given me so much joy, especially as these are all from brighter, warmer months. It’s good to be reminded that it doesn’t always rain all the time.
