This is a wonderful essay about a tremendously interesting subject; how one learns and potentially gains from still evolving memories of past events, and especially relationships. I was quite moved by this. It's beautifully written, and I think it's especially wonderful that you used the word, "regret" only once. I love the part about dreams too, which you associate with "a wish to sneak our present awareness back into an earlier moment and watch it bloom." Wow. Such a great thought, and such a gorgeous and very wise essay. Thank you.
