CHIPOTLE

Here's your daily breakdown of how one company is making great decisions.

BACKGROUND: Chipotle wants to hire 19,000 workers during their "burrito season" (this is amazing), on top of their existing 110,000 employees.

DECISION: Chipotle is adding new benefits including a 4% 401K top up for those with student loan payments, six free mental health counseling sessions and special credit card access.

LESSONS: Great example of how companies can think beyond money to craft compelling compensation plans. You can tell Chipotle is going after younger workers and has tailored their benefits accordingly.

1) Think of compensation and not just salary. Money is important but there's plenty of other benefits that attract talent.

2) Look for success and opportunities. Many companies are laying off employees but Chipotle is hiring. Strive to be more like Chipotle.

3) People want a career and not just a job. Even in jobs that can be seen as “temporary", people would rather learn valuable skills (the Mcdonalds model) than just get cold hard cash.
